What is QikiLoft?

QikiLoft is a plugin for Cinema 4D Release 8. It offers a quick way to loft a spline object across a straight line.

Requirements

Cinema 4D Release 8 for Windows or Mac

Installation

Make sure you create a directory inside C4D/Plugins called QikiLoft beforehand.

Extract the Zip file into your Cinema 4D plugins/QikiLoft directory

Usage

1.

Add a Circle Spline from the Objects > Spline Primitives Menu

2.

Add a QikiLoft object from the plugins Menu

3.

Make sure you are in Object mode, this will allow 'handles' to be drawn in the viewport

4.

You should see five dots or 'handles' appear in your viewport, these represent where the circle splines will be placed

5.

Use the Attribute Manager to tweak the length and the amount of clones QikiLoft will generate. Note the 'handles' in the viewport will reflect your changes

6.

Now simply parent the QikiLoft object to the Circle Object by dragging the Circle object and dropping it on QikiLoft

7.

You will see that the circle has been extruded on the Z axis

The object is not much use in it's current state. We must convert the object into splines and make any modifications as needed. Then we can convert the loft object into a polygon mesh

8.

Right click the QikiLoft object and choose Make Editable from the popup menu

You can now modify the object as a loft object.
